Practical guide

Resize without changing proportions

Keep Maintain Aspect Ratio on and edit either dimension. A 2400 × 1600 image becomes 1200 × 800 when its width is reduced to 1200 pixels.

Know what unlocked dimensions do

Turning the lock off lets you enter any width and height. Setting that 2400 × 1600 image to 1200 × 1200 stretches it into a square; it does not crop the image.

Pixels are not file size

Width and height control pixel dimensions, not a target number of KB. The downloaded file size also depends on image content and the format produced by your browser.

How to use

Click the upload area and select an image up to 10MB. Enter the output width or height in pixels; with Maintain Aspect Ratio on, the other dimension updates automatically. Click Resize & Download to save the result.

Example

Input
2400 × 1600 px image; set width to 1200 with aspect ratio locked
Output
1200 × 800 px image

Limitations

Input files are limited to 10MB. This tool resizes to pixel dimensions; it does not crop or target a file size in KB. Upscaling cannot restore missing detail. Decoding and canvas export depend on browser support, and a browser may fall back to its default canvas image format.

Frequently Asked Questions

Will the tool crop my image?

No. It scales the full image to the dimensions you enter. Unlocked dimensions can stretch the image instead of cropping it.

Can I resize to a target file size in KB?

No. This tool sets width and height in pixels and does not promise a particular download size.

Does enlarging an image improve its detail?

No. Upscaling creates more pixels but cannot recover detail that was not present in the source.

Does the image leave my device?

No. The resize is performed locally in your browser.
